Cheddars Restaurant
BOWLING GREEN, KY

During the site design phase for this popular local restaurant, the services of Landmark Engineering were retained to design and engineer the large stormwater retention basin that serves the restaurant and surrounding sites. Because of site constraints, it was necessary to use vertical retaining walls rather than traditional graduated earthwork to shape the basin and form its perimeter. Approximately 300 l.f. of concrete wall—adjacent to roadways—and 350 l.f. of segmental retaining wall—adjacent to the site—was designed, with heights up to 15 feet. A ramp was also designed within the basin to allow vehicular access for maintenance.

Landmark Engineering also worked with the company architects and engineers on the site design and layout and coordinated with local officials in getting approval for all phases of the project.
